Adoption Update: Fergi & Aiden
Some adoptions happen in an instant. Others take time, patience, and a leap of faith. Fergi and Aiden's story is a little bit of both.
When Fergi first arrived as a foster, she became the third cat in the household. At around 9 years old, this sweet senior preferred the quiet comfort of her guest room, where she had everything she needed—including her favorite morning and evening "Cat TV" sessions. She loved gentle pets, affection, and the simple pleasures of a peaceful home.
As the weeks passed, her confidence slowly grew. She ventured a little farther each day until she was comfortably perched on the back of the couch, quietly watching the world around her—as long as there wasn't too much commotion! Although she peacefully coexisted with the resident cats, she mostly kept to herself. Somewhere along the way, it became impossible to imagine sending her back into rescue.
Fergi officially became a foster failure—and one of the best decisions ever made.
The typical “Fergi-Nest”
She settled into her forever home, enjoying open windows, relaxing on the porch, and one of her favorite daily rituals: crawling under the blankets late each morning to build herself the coziest little nest for a nap.
Sadly, time brought heartbreak as Fergi lost both of her feline siblings. After saying goodbye to her brother Dexter, it was hard to know if she was truly happy as an only cat. That's when Aiden entered the picture.
In February 2026, Aiden arrived as a foster with a simple goal—to see if he and Fergi might enjoy each other's company. If it wasn't a good fit, he'd simply continue his journey to another forever home.
It didn't take long to realize Aiden had a heart as big as his personality.
Unlike Fergi's cautious start, Aiden settled in almost immediately, completely carefree and convinced he belonged. His daily routine quickly became opening the window blinds each morning, enjoying breakfast, and claiming the highest perch on his cat tree for an afternoon nap. Before long, he had formed a special bond with his new human, often curling up on a shoulder at bedtime as if he'd always been there.
The biggest surprise, though, was Fergi.
Not only did she accept Aiden, but every now and then she'd surprise everyone by initiating a game of chase. Seeing this once-timid senior girl play again has been a gift beyond words.

At around 2 years old, Aiden brought a youthful energy that took some getting used to after years of living with only senior cats, but his curiosity, sweetness, and easygoing nature have been the perfect complement to Fergi's calm and gentle spirit.
Today, Fergi and Aiden have found exactly what they needed in each other. Fergi has a companion who encourages her to play and keeps life interesting, while Aiden has a loving home where he can be his carefree, affectionate self.
Sometimes the best forever homes aren't just about rescuing one cat—they're about giving two cats exactly who they didn't know they were missing. ❤️
