Adoption Update: Bobby & Albie (Marvin)
Tiny Geniuses, Treat Bandits & Birthday Boys 🥳
Some cats settle into their new homes… and then there are Bobby and Albie—who arrived, took over, and immediately proved they might just be the smartest duo around 😄🧠
Formerly known as Marvin, Albie got his new name in the most delightfully nerdy way. After some impressive problem-solving skills (like opening dresser drawers), his adopter and her boyfriend compared the pair to Albert Einstein and Robert Oppenheimer—two brilliant minds, newly “adopted,” and possibly a little chaotic. And just like that, Marvin became Albie, and the legend was born.
And honestly? The name fits perfectly.
These two are thriving in every way—playful, happy, and incredibly smart. Albie has fully embraced the wet food life (and is always ready for his next meal), while Bobby prefers a balanced approach, going about 50/50 with wet and dry. Mealtime also reveals their personalities: Albie dives right in, while Bobby politely waits his turn… most of the time 😉
A recent vet visit confirmed what we love to hear: both boys are in excellent health 💛
When it comes to personality, you get the best of both worlds:
Bobby is the cuddle bug 🥰
Albie is the belly-rub enthusiast (and proud of it!)
They spend their days playing together in bursts of energy—morning and evening zoom sessions—followed by cozy midday naps. Their favorite hangout? The top of the fridge, of course! It became their spot so quickly that it now features a dedicated cat bed fit for two very important residents 😌
But let’s talk about their true specialty:
Opening things they absolutely should not open.
Cabinets? Not safe.
Pantry doors? Definitely not safe.
Treat storage? Had to be relocated to the fridge 😅
These boys figured out how to slide open pantry doors and help themselves to snacks, which is both impressive… and slightly incriminating. They’re now channeling that brainpower into puzzle treat games—sliding doors and flipping flaps like pros.
Of course, no sibling duo is complete without a little drama. Bobby can get a bit possessive over treats and favorite toys (a quick bap on the head keeps Albie in line), but with a little space during treat time, everyone stays happy.
And at the end of the day?
They come running to the door to greet their human like she’s the best thing that’s ever happened to them 🥹 because to them… she is.
